I’m a huge believer in goals and I’m absolutely in love with that feeling of accomplishment as you tick one of the list. I believe that if you have an incentive to complete events, whether it’s making your bed or travelling to Europe, you will get them done. I highly recommend trying out a month of goal setting to demonstrate how effectively they order your life. You’ll find that you have more time to do other activities, you are happier and you can spend more time with your friends and family. For those who need help setting goals, I have a step-by-step guide below to show you how.
Step 1: Think about what you want to have done. Think about school work, shift hours, sports and other activities you would like to complete.
Step 2: Think about the future. You may have an assignment due Friday, therefor you would want to create a goal that states that you must complete the assignment by Thursday. This will avoid stress and rushed work on the day it’s due.
Step 3: Think about your long-term goals. It could be wanting to be fit, to eat healthier, to get better grades etc. You should add small ‘sub-goals’ to eventually get to your long-term goal. For example, if you wanted to eat healthier, a sub-goal may be to cut out sugars.
Step 4: Write them down! Simply write them down on a piece of paper or on your phone. If you are writing them on your phone, I recommend using the Reminders app, as you can tick them off as they are completed.
